Northern Rivers Community Transport
NRCT is a non-profit community organization that provides a range of transport services for elderly, people with disabilities and carers who have difficulty using public transport. A major source of funding comes from the Aging, Disability & Homecare, Department of Human Services NSW (ADHC) through the Home and Community Care Program (HACC). This is a jointly funded State and Commonwealth initiative designed to assist people to retain a high quality of life in their community. NRCT also receives funding from other sources including NSW Transport and Infrastructure and the Department of Health.
NRCT provides people with personalised and flexible transport options and relies on a dedicated and caring team of volunteers as well as paid drivers. Clients are asked to pay a contribution if they can afford to. Our buses are wheelchair accessible.
Mission Statement
To provide high quality equitable transport and social support services, information and referral for people who are transport disadvantaged and socially isolated.
To address inequities in access and assist in the development of flexible transport options and parnerships that build communities within the local goverment areas of Lismore, Kyogle and Richmond Valley.
To deliver services in a manner sensitive to environmental and social impact.
